I am a mental health advocate, social service nonprofit lover, and current Grant Coordinator at Henry Ford Health System. I recently graduated from the University of Michigan, with a major in English and minor in Writing. Throughout my education, I studied rhetoric and communication and, with the affordances of my liberal arts education, I added business classes in marketing and nonprofit management courses to my education. Throughout college I worked in marketing/development for The Mary A. Rackham Institute, a social services nonprofit, in addition to leading support groups through the student-led Wolverine Support Network. Now, as a graduate, I am a Grant Coordinator at Henry Ford Health System as well as volunteer Crisis Text Line Counselor.
With this website, I aim to present a focused collection of my previous work and my ability while allowing my personal values and priorities to shine through. While I have a wide variety of writing experience, from creative nonfiction to research reports, I have included my marketing, grant writing, and social advocate writing on this site because these are the areas I am passionate about.
My grandfather gave me one piece of career advice: "Read and write well," and I firmly believe in the importance of both in every avenue of life. Reading and writing are fundamental to understanding humanity, leading to successful communication, and human service.
